## Description

The International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) is a global scientific organization supporting hydrology and related sciences. Its community includes more than 13,000 members in over 170 countries, bringing together researchers and practitioners to share knowledge and advance understanding of water systems. Membership is free. IAHS supports international collaboration through conferences, workshops, online discussions, scientific commissions, working groups, and initiatives that connect hydrology with local needs and global challenges. Its third Scientific Decade, HELPING (Hydrology Engaging Local People IN one Global world), focuses on local solutions to the global water crisis and invites members to participate in collaborative research. The association also provides capacity-building opportunities through the IAHS Academy, with a focus on strengthening training for early-career hydrologists. IAHS publishes and supports a range of scientific resources, including the peer-reviewed Hydrological Sciences Journal, Proceedings of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences, books and special publications, and its Benchmark Series. It also recognizes achievement through awards and travel awards, and contributes to the wider scientific community as one of the eight constituent associations of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics.
