IAP2 Latinoamerica is an international association that promotes public participation practices through training, events, and professional networks worldwide. With a focus on strengthening the involvement of communities and stakeholders in decisions that affect their lives, IAP2 operates in public, private, and non-governmental sectors. Currently, more than 7,000 professionals are members of IAP2, representing regional organizations in Canada, the United States, Indonesia, Australasia, South Africa, and now, Latin America.

In Latin America, IAP2 offers opportunities for individuals and diverse groups to acquire the necessary skills and competencies to actively participate in shaping the future of their communities, territories, and countries. As a continent that shares common elements in history, economy, politics, and culture, Latin America faces critical challenges related to poverty, inequality, and sustainability. Public participation is seen as a democratic means to address these issues, allowing people and organizations to have a say in decision-making and policy development.

IAP2 aims to create learning and capacity-building opportunities that align with the values and practices of the region, empowering individuals to design and implement participatory processes tailored to Latin America's unique context.
