CASEE is an international network of Central and South Eastern European Higher Education Institutions that focuses on the disciplines of life sciences including agriculture, food, biotechnology, natural resources, rural development, and the environment. As a non-profit organization, CASEE aims to cultivate a European dimension in education and research by fostering collaboration and concerted actions among its member institutions. The network supports the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Danube region and strives to strengthen research, education, and university development in the region.

Through joint projects, such as the development of curricula and continuous educational offerings, human resource development, and knowledge transfer via an e-platform, CASEE promotes excellence in research, education, and university management. The network addresses significant challenges facing universities in the knowledge society, such as internationalization, food and water security, environmental protection, and the sustainable use of natural resources.
