## Description

ICAN, the Independent Counseling & Advocacy Network, supports people with disabilities and other vulnerable individuals in building independent, fulfilling lives. Serving children and adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities, as well as people with mental health challenges, the organization emphasizes that people are individuals first, with their own strengths, goals, and choices. Its mission is to help each person recognize and reach their potential and participate in shaping the life they want.

ICAN provides residential support, in-home care, community-based residential settings, and a range of independent and semi-independent services and resources. Care is tailored to each individual’s needs through person-centered planning, with practical tools and ongoing support intended to encourage participation in the community and greater independence. The organization describes its role as advocating for the people it serves and helping them thrive.

ICAN is licensed in Steele and Waseca Counties in Minnesota. Its team includes approximately 110 employees, supported by a management group with decades of experience serving vulnerable populations.
