## Description

The Swedish Section of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ Sweden) is a nonprofit organization bringing together legal professionals committed to human rights and the rule of law. Established shortly after the international commission was founded in 1952, the section works to strengthen fundamental rights in Sweden and internationally. Its priorities include supporting the independence of courts and the legal profession, promoting respect for the law, and advancing access to effective judicial remedies when individual rights are at stake.

ICJ Sweden contributes to the development of international law and human rights standards, and engages with legal and policy issues through its Rule of Law Programme for Sweden. Its activities include ongoing projects, public debate, seminars, events, and international work. The organization also shares news and commentary on current developments affecting rights and legal safeguards.

People can support its work by becoming members or making donations. Contributions help fund projects, events, and public discussion about legal protections in Sweden and abroad.
