## Description

The Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit network of current and former collegiate and professional women athletes, their families, and supporters. The organization aims to elevate and empower female athletes and promote what it describes as safety, fairness, and equal opportunity for women and girls in sports. It seeks to build a collective voice against sex-based discrimination and advocate for respect and fair competition. ICONS’s work includes legal advocacy, support for lawsuits concerning women’s sports, public education, science and education resources, and outreach through social media, press releases, webinars, conferences, and summit videos. The organization also invites people to join its network and support its efforts through donations. Its website highlights advocacy related to college sports and the NCAA, including support for female athletes involved in legal challenges. ICONS says it is a Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization and that donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Through these activities, it seeks to defend opportunities for the next generation of female athletes.
