## Description

IDEA is the territorial development agency serving the 27 municipalities of the Coeur du Hainaut region in Belgium. Based in Mons, it employs more than 350 people and carries out public-interest missions for local authorities, businesses and residents. Its work focuses on four connected areas: economic development, water, energy and land-use planning.

For businesses, IDEA supports the development of economic activity and manages business parks, offering information and resources for companies interested in locating or expanding in the region. It also promotes sustainable business practices through an ESG charter for companies and investors planning to acquire land, expand facilities or take over existing buildings in its economic activity zones. The charter encourages attention to environmental impact, social cohesion and responsible governance.

IDEA also contributes to projects that support renewable energy and territorial development. Through its work with municipalities and local communities, the agency aims to strengthen the Coeur du Hainaut economy while supporting initiatives that benefit the area and its inhabitants.
