IDEA is a public charter school located in the Deanwood neighborhood of Washington DC. Founded in 1997, IDEA is committed to challenging, motivating, and strengthening the intellect of all its students, whether they are preparing for college or the workforce. Situated in a state-of-the-art educational facility, IDEA offers rigorous core academics along with robust career and technical education pathways in business management, child development, computer science, and construction technology.

The school also provides a wide range of athletic and extracurricular activities to foster teamwork, leadership, and discovery, including gardening, cooking, the National Honor Society, and a student advisory council. IDEA's athletic teams compete in the DC Public Charter School League, having garnered multiple championships.
