IDIA is a nation-wide movement dedicated to increasing diversity and access in legal education. Their mission is to empower underprivileged and marginalized communities by creating top-quality lawyers from within. Founded by the late Prof.

(Dr. ) Shamnad Basheer, IDIA relies on over 600 passionate student volunteers located across India. IDIA's approach involves sensitizing underprivileged students to the power of the law and the numerous career opportunities available to them.

Once selected, these students undergo free training, including classroom coaching from India's leading law entrance coaching centers, to help them excel in entrance exams. For those who pass the exams, IDIA provides comprehensive support throughout their legal education journey, including training, mentoring, and other forms of assistance. The impact of IDIA's work is remarkable, with over 68,000 students sensitized to law as a career option, 730 students rigorously trained for law entrance exams, and 181 IDIA Scholars admitted to top Indian law schools.
