## Description

Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (IDI), established in 1950, serves as the professional organization for physicians across Indonesia, ensuring a unified voice for doctors nationwide. IDI operates under the auspices of the Indonesian government via the Ministry of Health and aims to uphold ethical standards, professionalism, and solidarity among its members. The organization's vision is to cultivate an ethical, independent, and professional medical community, while its mission includes enhancing the ethical values and collegiality among Indonesian doctors, promoting research and innovation in medical science, and fostering a sense of belonging among its members.

Originally founded as a response to the historical healthcare challenges faced by indigenous doctors during the colonial era, IDI has evolved significantly. It is active in numerous initiatives, including the development of medical standards and the coordination of healthcare training programs. Additionally, IDI plays a vital role in the global medical community as a member of the World Medical Association, dedicated to promoting global health and medical ethics. Through continuous engagement and advocacy, IDI remains committed to advancing the quality of healthcare in Indonesia and ensuring that all doctors are equipped to provide excellent care.
