## Description

IEEE Photonics Society is the professional home for a global community of engineers, scientists, researchers, academics, students, and industry professionals working in photonics. A volunteer-driven organization within IEEE, it supports connection, learning, collaboration, and the development of the field. Members can access professional resources, career services, webinars, learning tools, a journals club, community directories, local chapters, and opportunities to volunteer or partner with the Society. Its publications include journals covering photonics, quantum electronics, optical communications, displays, and related technologies. The Society also supports a broad portfolio of conferences and educational programs, alongside standards activities, STEM outreach, and industry engagement. Through awards, scholarships, mentoring, and initiatives such as Women in Photonics and Young Professionals, it recognizes achievement and helps develop talent.
