## Description

IFFO is an international trade organization that represents the marine ingredients industry, including fishmeal, fish oil, and related industries. Marine ingredients are derived from marine organisms such as fish, krill, shellfish, and algae and are used for aquafeed, land animal feed, and human consumption. With 250 members in around 50 countries, IFFO accounts for over 55% of world production and 80% of the globally traded fishmeal and fish oil. Accredited by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and the International Maritime Organization, IFFO plays a vital role in progressing the industry by providing a meeting point and serving as the main source of information. Additionally, IFFO ensures that the significant role of sustainable marine ingredients in the global food system is widely recognized. They have a history of promoting cooperation, sharing information, and addressing shared commercial problems within the industry. Through their initiatives, IFFO aims to contribute to feeding a growing population sustainably and responsibly by advocating for transparency and collaboration in the whole food supply chain.
