## Description

IFMSA-Japan, the Japanese branch of the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA), is a non-profit, non-political international NGO established to unite medical students globally for the purpose of enhancing public health and cultivating future healthcare leaders. Founded in Europe in 1951, IFMSA has its headquarters in Denmark and collaborates with recognized organizations such as WHO and WMA.

As of March 2024, IFMSA-Japan boasts 47 institutional members, representing over 620 individual members, with approximately 470 actively participating as staff. Their mission focuses on fostering well-rounded healthcare professionals through community engagement and connections with international societies. They operate through six standing committees—encompassing areas like clinical and public health exchange programs, sexual and reproductive health, human rights, and medical education—allowing students to engage in diverse projects and workshops to develop essential skills and knowledge.

With a strong emphasis on global health, IFMSA-Japan is committed to creating a better society through education and collaboration.
