IGF Academy, initiated by iRights, aims to promote freedom of expression on the Internet and to establish inclusive and transparent national Internet governance and policy processes. It offers support to fellows from four African and four Asian countries in creating and strengthening multistakeholder, national Internet governance structures. To assist countries in establishing Internet governance processes, IGF Academy has released the IGF Academy Transfer Guide.

This toolkit provides strategic steps for creating new National and Regional Initiatives (NRIs) and offers insights from the experiences of the IGF Academy Fellows. It includes tools such as stakeholder mapping, SWOT analysis, communication and funding strategies, and roadmaps. The IGF Academy Toolkit, a publication presented by the fellows at IGF 2016, comprises two parts: The road to a local IGF: Strategies and experiences and The road to a local IGF: Country profiles.

These documents act as a valuable resource for other countries seeking to establish their own national Internet Governance Forum. Overall, IGF Academy plays a crucial role in fostering dialogue and cooperation in Internet governance at both regional and global levels
