## Description

Poltegor-Instytut is a Wrocław-based research institute specializing in opencast mining and related fields. Established in its present form in 1990, it builds on a history dating to 1950 and is described as a leading Polish research organization in surface mining. Its work covers lignite, rock and chemical raw materials, aggregates, geology, environmental protection, energy, and belt transportation.
