## Description

International Garden Photographer of the Year is a prestigious photography competition and exhibition that focuses on garden, plant, flower, and botanical photography. It is considered one of the most respected competitions in the world and is organized by Mirror Plate Media Ltd, with support from the Royal Botanic Gardens in London. The main exhibition takes place annually at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and features a variety of touring exhibitions in the UK and around the globe.

The competition offers various categories each year, including favorites like 'The Beauty of Plants,' 'Beautiful Gardens,' and 'Abstract Views.' Additionally, there are five photo projects and several seasonal special awards, such as 'Captured at Kew.' While the competition's name suggests a focus on gardens only, International Garden Photographer of the Year embraces a broader definition of 'Garden,' including landscapes, parks, and forests.

Entries are accepted from both amateurs and professionals worldwide, with thousands of submissions received each year. To enter, there is a fee that helps cover administration, prizes, and exhibition costs. Winning photographers gain prestige, pride, and promotion. The exhibition also garners significant press coverage, including features in The English Garden magazine and the BBC News website.

Whether you're an experienced photographer or just starting your journey into garden photography, International Garden Photographer of the Year provides a platform to showcase your work, gain recognition, and connect with other enthusiasts in this thriving genre.
