The club was founded in 2014 by Francesca de Valence, an Australian singer-songwriter, teacher, and speaker who experienced writer's block.

Recognizing that many others faced similar challenges, Francesca created a simple solution - a regular email-based songwriting exercise that would spark creativity, encouragement, and alleviate anxieties about productivity. What started as a small endeavor quickly grew into an internationally renowned community of songwriters.
