## Description

IHRA Australia is the Australian arm of the International Hot Rod Association, supporting drag racing through event sanctioning, competitor licensing, technical standards and safety oversight. It works with racers, teams, officials and venues to help deliver organised competition across the country. Its services include drag racing licence administration, technical guidance and vehicle compliance requirements, with information and applications available through its licensing portal. IHRA Australia also issues rule updates covering vehicle equipment and race procedures. Recent guidance includes parachute standards for high-speed sedan-type vehicles and Pro Slammer and Pro Mod categories, as well as requirements for drivers to activate parachutes manually. The organisation recognises eligible licences from other sanctioning bodies under specified temporary arrangements and communicates changes directly to competitors. IHRA Australia supports events and series, including the International Pro Mod 660 Ironman Classic, and collaborates with motorsport venues through sanctioning agreements. Its work also includes promoting the sport and engaging established racers as ambassadors. For enquiries, IHRA Australia lists a general contact number and a separate technical contact.
