Description

The Institutional Locksmith's Association is a professional organization comprised of locksmiths, carpenters, and building engineers who work within institutions such as colleges, universities, hospitals, companies, and government facilities. Our members are involved in the installation, servicing, maintenance, and recommendation of mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic security and life safety hardware. Our association was established to address the specific needs and challenges faced by institutional locksmiths.

We aim to provide a forum for locksmiths to discuss key control and master keying issues, technical information, and assistance in locating parts, supplies, and key codes. In addition to networking and problem-solving opportunities, our association offers numerous benefits to institutions. We focus on increasing professionalism through education, communication, cooperation, and certification.

Our corporate and associate members, including factory representatives and distributors, provide free or low-cost training, product updates, and reviews. The ILA also acts as a liaison between institutional locksmiths and mainstream locksmiths, fostering collaboration with industry associations. We welcome locksmiths with an interest in institutional security hardware and offer affordable training at our national education conference.
