## Description

The International League of Associations for Rheumatology (ILAR) is an international organization dedicated to advancing rheumatology in developing countries. Its work focuses on strengthening awareness, knowledge, and access to ways of preventing, treating, rehabilitating, and relieving rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, particularly in regions with exceptional need. ILAR’s Executive Committee includes leaders from five partner organizations: the American College of Rheumatology, the African League of Associations for Rheumatology, the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology, the European League Against Rheumatism, and the Pan American League of Associations for Rheumatology.

ILAR supports projects through an annual grant proposal program, inviting applications for initiatives aligned with its mission. Its 2027 grant application period has closed. The organization also publishes Clinical Rheumatology, a peer-reviewed journal featuring high-quality rheumatology research and articles for an international audience. Individuals and organizations can further support ILAR’s work through donations. Together, these grants, publications, partnerships, and contributions help promote the development of rheumatology and support communities facing significant unmet needs.
