## Description

The Illinois Society of Genetic Professionals (ISGP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing genetic services, research, and education across Illinois. Founded in 1982, it brings together professionals from medicine, community health, research, education, and related fields to improve care for individuals and families affected by genetic conditions. Membership is open to genetics professionals and others interested in genetics, with full, associate, and student categories.

ISGP supports high-quality, ethical genetic health care through education, professional networking, public awareness, and advocacy. It works with state leaders and insurance companies to promote access to genetic services and supports quality standards for genetic counseling, including counselor licensure in Illinois.
