## Description

Illume Umbra Research is an independent field and archival research initiative focused on unexplained phenomena and the primary sources that document them. Its work brings together public records, historical case files, agency releases, witness reports, and ongoing field observations, making material easier to explore, verify, and cite. The archive includes state-by-state research, with particular attention to cattle mutilation investigations and unexplained livestock deaths, alongside broader topics such as unidentified aerial phenomena, cryptid encounters, reported hauntings, and early parapsychology.

Illume Umbra pursues federal and state public-records requests and organizes resulting documents for public access. Its SkyVigil Live work involves regular field observations, with selected recordings reviewed and added to the archive. The site also invites firsthand, historical, and secondhand reports, including anonymous submissions, for research and preservation. An interactive Zener card test lets visitors try a classic parapsychology exercise across 25 trials and compare results with statistical chance; scores are used only in aggregate community statistics. The initiative welcomes inquiries, research leads, and field reports.
