## Description

Dominique Oberhauser is a French Tasmanian artist whose work focuses on the traditional art of illumination. The studio creates small, intricate paintings by hand, combining 23-karat gold leaf with vibrant pigments. Its distinctive style draws inspiration from illuminated manuscripts, medieval scenes, Turkish tile patterns, Russian enamels, stained-glass windows, and other historic decorative designs.

The collection spans several themes, including initials, choir books, icons and saints, books of hours, Turkish-inspired motifs, and medieval imagery. These works are presented through an online gallery and art shop, where visitors can explore paintings and decorative pieces. The site also features a section for “objects of desire,” alongside information about the studio, exhibitions, news, and a blog.

For those seeking a more personal artwork, Dominique Oberhauser invites enquiries about commissions. The brand brings historical influences and meticulous hand-painted detail together in unique miniature works, offering collectors and art enthusiasts an opportunity to discover contemporary interpretations of the illumination tradition.
