iMPACT-Implants is an innovative initiative aimed at revolutionizing the medical implant industry by focusing on customized solutions for patients, enhancing their health and overall quality of life. Founded through a collaboration between the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG), the ENTEG Institute of the University of Groningen, and several regional companies, this consortium has secured significant funding to advance its mission. With a budget of €7.3 million, iMPACT-Implants harnesses cutting-edge digital technology, including 3D imaging, to create personalized implants tailored to the unique biomechanical characteristics of each patient.

The consortium includes experts in medical device manufacturing, encapsulation technology, and biomedical polymers, ensuring a comprehensive approach to developing and delivering innovative implant solutions. By setting a new standard for medical implants within the European Union, iMPACT-Implants aspires to improve surgical outcomes across Northern Netherlands and potentially expand this model to other regions.
