## Description

iNaturalist NZ – Mātaki Taiao is a platform where nature enthusiasts can come together to share their observations, engage in citizen science projects, and explore New Zealand's incredible biodiversity. From trampers to birders, everyone can contribute to a collective record of the natural world. By sharing observations on iNaturalist, we create a valuable resource for scientists and environmental managers to monitor changes in biodiversity.

Mātaki Taiao, the Māori name for iNaturalist NZ, reflects the essence of observing and examining the natural world around us. Supported by the New Zealand Bio-Recording Network Trust, this platform aims to increase knowledge of New Zealand's natural history, engage individuals in bio-recording activities, and provide a secure and ethical source of biological information for the public. Join us in discovering, learning, and protecting New Zealand's unique ecosystems on iNaturalist NZ – Mātaki Taiao.
