## Description

Index is an online platform connecting and supporting the music community across North East England. Designed as a practical, easy-to-use resource, it brings contacts, information and opportunities together in one place to help people in the regional music scene save time and work together more easily.

At the heart of Index is a comprehensive directory for people and organisations involved in music across the North East. Musicians and music businesses can submit a listing, making it easier for others to discover local venues, sound engineers, rehearsal rooms, amp repair services and other music-related resources. The directory welcomes participants from across the region, including Sunderland, Berwick, Gateshead and Teesside.

Index also shares projects and research focused on the area’s music communities, including the County Durham Music Report 2025 and the Berwick-upon-Tweed Music Report 2026. The platform invites people to work with it and offers a mailing list for updates. Index acknowledges support from mentors, funders and partners, including King’s Trust, which helped make the initiative possible.
