About
Description
The Indian Gaming Association (IGA) is an inter-tribal association of federally recognized Indian Tribes, incorporated in 1985. Their mission is to protect and preserve tribal sovereignty and promote economic self-sufficiency for tribes through gaming and other forms of economic development. IGA serves as an educational, legislative, and public policy resource for tribal policy makers and the public on issues related to Indian gaming and tribal community development.
Located on Capitol Hill, they advocate on behalf of Indian tribes with Congress, the White House, and federal agencies to ensure that the special status of tribes is recognized and protected. IGA is led by a dedicated team of individuals who prioritize the community's well-being. Chairman Ernest L.
Stevens, Jr., who has been in his position for nine terms, is responsible for representing the Indian gaming industry and shaping policy initiatives that impact the industry. With a commitment to advancing the lives of Indian peoples economically, socially, and politically, IGA strives to ensure the success and sovereignty of Indian tribes in the United States through effective advocacy, education, and support
