## Description

India Observatory, spearheaded by the Foundation for Ecological Security (FES), is a pioneering collaborative initiative designed to provide vital information on India's ecological, social, and economic conditions. Established to foster better decision-making at local levels, India Observatory integrates nature conservation and natural resource management into the broader context of rural development.

At the core of its offerings is the Data Platform, an open-source repository that aggregates over 1,600 parameters, presented through user-friendly maps, graphs, tables, and infographics. This valuable resource is freely accessible to civil society organizations, students, government entities, and citizens, enhancing their capacity to make informed decisions.

Additionally, India Observatory provides specialized tools like the Indian Biodiversity Information System (IBIS) and the Integrated Forest Management Tool (IFMT), addressing specific environmental challenges. The initiative encourages collaboration with other organizations to share data and analytics, emphasizing the importance of community engagement in sustaining ecological advancements. Currently in Beta, India Observatory is committed to expanding its data sets and analytical capabilities, inviting contributions and feedback from stakeholders.
