# Independent Retailer Month - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `indieretailermonth.com` ## Description Independent Retailer Month celebrates the significance of independent retailers in promoting sustainable communities, enriching both local and global economies. Established in July 2011, this initiative encourages consumers to shop at independent stores, recognizing their vital role in fostering vibrant cities and towns. The event originated from the collaborative ideas of Tom Shay and Kerry Bannigan, who together sought to highlight the contributions of independent merchants through various celebratory activities. Today, Independent Retailer Month showcases a variety of businesses, including franchised and co-op stores, as well as those operating online, blurring the definitions of local independent retail. By partnering with independent retailer associations and small business organizations, the initiative underscores the importance of supporting local economies and encourages consumers to make conscious shopping decisions year-round. Whether through in-store experiences or online platforms, Independent Retailer Month aims to create awareness and appreciation for the diverse range of products and services offered by independent retailers, ultimately strengthening community ties and economies. ## Industries - 🎗 Community and Society - 🎗 Holidays and Seasonal Events _(under Community and Society)_ - 📊 Business and Consumer Services ## Links - [facebook](https://facebook.com/indieretailermonth) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/ido2PWPrru/w/330/h/103/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1752567846293) - icon _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/ido2PWPrru/w/513/h/513/theme/dark/icon.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1752567846520) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Cardinal | #bf1e2e | accent | | Pickled Bluewood | #2a3651 | dark | | White | #ffffff | light | ## Fonts - Arial — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
