Welcome to Individual Advocacy Group! We are a CARF-Accredited boutique nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering adults with disabilities to lead meaningful lives. At Individual Advocacy Group, we firmly believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we provide comprehensive support to ensure they can achieve their full potential. Our unique approach focuses on teaching self-advocacy, promoting self-entrepreneurship, and utilizing creative mediums to assist individuals in self-management.

All of our programs are community-based, and our residential programs feature small-scale housing in Illinois and Washington, D. C. We cover 21 counties in Illinois, from Chicago to the Quad Cities to Springfield, as well as the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Founded in 1995 by Dr. Charlene Bennett Ed. D and Dr.

David Brooks PhD, our organization was born out of a commitment to addressing the mistreatment of people with disabilities and promoting small setting living arrangements within the community. Dr. Bennett, a true trailblazer in the field of disability rights, has fought tirelessly for the rights of individuals with disabilities, resulting in policy changes that have transformed countless lives.
