## Description

INFO-RAC (Regional Activity Centre for Information and Communication) is a regional centre serving the Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP). Established in 2005 by decision of the 14th Meeting of the Contracting Parties, it succeeded the Regional Activity Centre on Environment Remote Sensing, approved in 1993. Its central offering is the InfoMAP System, a UN Mediterranean platform designed to provide and share data, information services and knowledge for MAP components and Contracting Parties. The platform also supports the Mediterranean Quality Status and State of Environment Report.

InfoMAP brings together reporting, data management and knowledge services, including a Data Centre, BCRS Reporting, NBB Reporting, the KMAP Knowledge Management Platform, the IMAP Info System and MedLearn e-learning. Its functions include providing access to reporting systems, harmonising data structures and models, cataloguing shared resources, integrating data through an interoperability layer, and enabling users to view, query and analyse information. INFO-RAC also offers tools for disseminating data and information, alongside resources and initiatives such as MEDNEWS, MED QSR and SEAWatcher.
