## Description

InfodemiLab is a research initiative dedicated to combating the spread of misinformation and fake news, known as infodemic, especially during times of crises like pandemics, natural disasters, elections, and polarization. With a focus on developing resilience among media users in Turkey, the lab initially tackled false information related to the Covid-19 pandemic and is now expanding its scope to encompass other current crises.

Using an ethnographic and interdisciplinary approach, InfodemiLab endeavors to understand how false information spreads among media users and create strategies to enhance resilience. Supported by a TÜBİTAK grant, the lab has already published findings on media platforms accessed by users for coronavirus-related content and information verification mechanisms. A new project launched in January 2022 delves into the realm of "political news" in Turkey, aiming to counter the dissemination of false information on a broader scale. InfodemiLab stands at the forefront of combating misinformation and empowering media users with reliable information.
