## Description

INIJOVEM, formally the Association for Youth Initiatives of Nisa, is a local youth association founded on 23 May 1997 by a group of young people from the area. Its purpose is to promote and give expression to Nisa’s youth association movement by providing a representative platform for local young people. The association organizes activities that bring people together, encourage outdoor recreation, and highlight the region’s landscape, traditions, and cultural routes. Its program includes Trilhos do Contrabando, a trail event inspired by stories and paths connected with historical smuggling across the border, and Trail Running Vila de Nisa, which invites participants to discover the natural beauty of Portugal’s interior. Other activities include a religious and cultural walk from Nisa to Fátima, canoeing, a traditional São Pedro bonfire held on 28 June, and a fishing gathering for members. INIJOVEM also shares information about its history, leadership, agenda, documents, activities, and gallery through its website, and provides contact details for the association.
