About

Description

Aid Inmate Mothers (AIM) is a nonprofit organization that aims to support incarcerated women in Alabama by providing services that promote personal growth and strengthen the bonds between inmate mothers and their children. AIM was established in 1987 by Church Women United, The Alabama Prison Project, The Alabama Department of Corrections, and dedicated volunteers who recognized the need to address the issue of women in prison who were unable to see their children. AIM's mission is to create a criminal justice model that respects and understands the rights of children affected by maternal incarceration.

They also strive to alleviate the burdens faced by these children and families as a result of imprisonment. AIM offers various programs, including monthly visitation, the Storybook Project, prison classes, Project Reconnect, and Pack-a-Purse Family Outreach. By joining AIM's efforts, you can make a difference in the lives of incarcerated women and their families.
