## Description

**Brand Description: Baden-Württemberg**

Baden-Württemberg is a forward-thinking region committed to the protection of nature and climate. In 2024, the government acquired approximately 125 hectares of crucial natural and climate-protecting land, with a significant focus on the conservation of moors, which constitute nearly a quarter of these newly protected areas. This initiative represents an investment of about 3.1 million euros, sourced from state funds and the Nature Conservation Fund, demonstrating the region's dedication to ecological sustainability.

The acquisition of these diverse ecosystems spans several districts, including Karlsruhe and Tübingen, and aims to enhance biodiversity while contributing to climate neutrality efforts. Environmental Minister Thekla Walker emphasizes that the preservation of moors is essential for binding greenhouse gases, making it a vital part of their climate strategy. Not stopping here, Baden-Württemberg plans further investments for land acquisition in the coming years, with special attention to moorland conservation as effective carbon sinks. Through these efforts, Baden-Württemberg aspires to safeguard its natural heritage for future generations.
