## Description

The Plant is a groundbreaking research and production facility that embodies the principles of sustainability and waste reduction. Founded by John Edel and his social enterprise, Bubbly Dynamics, The Plant houses a collaborative community of small food businesses committed to reimagining waste as a valuable resource. Once a meatpacking plant, this repurposed industrial facility now serves as a living laboratory, showcasing innovative techniques for closing loops of waste and energy. The Plant aims to create replicable models for efficiency, inspiring others to combat climate change through sustainable practices.

With over 20 small businesses currently operating within its 100,000 sq. ft. space, The Plant represents a diverse range of food-related industries. From indoor and outdoor farms to kombucha and beer breweries, a bakery, a cheese distributor, and a coffee roaster, these businesses exemplify the possibilities of material reuse and closed-loop systems. Additionally, The Plant provides research and learning opportunities for those interested in sustainable food production.

Owned and operated by Bubbly Dynamics LLC, The Plant is part of a larger vision to revitalize urban industrial development. Bubbly Dynamics focuses on creating ecologically responsible and sustainable spaces, and The Plant stands at the forefront of this mission. With ongoing expansion plans, The Plant continues to evolve and inspire as a beacon of sustainability in the heart of Chicago.
