## Description

The Institut de Communication et d’Information sur le Cancer (ICIC) is a French association founded in December 2017 and based in Perpignan. It aims to change public perceptions of cancer through communication, information and initiatives focused on primary prevention and health democracy. The institute recognizes that, despite progress in imaging, treatment and supportive care, cancer can still inspire fear and negative perceptions.

ICIC offers public-facing events and activities that encourage people to learn about cancer and engage with the subject. Its Les Printemps de la Cancérologie programme brings professionals together to present topics for a general audience and answer questions; the institute also invites communities to organize events. Through La tête et les jambes, it promotes activities, with opportunities for participants to register. Its projects include the “Faut pas crever” relay cycling challenge, initiated by patients and involving people affected by cancer, those in remission and their loved ones. The route connects Menton and Perpignan over 630 kilometres and 12 stages, combining personal achievement with a collective goal.
