## Description

The French Polar Institute Paul-Émile Victor (IPEV) is a French agency that provides the resources, expertise and operational support needed for scientific research in the polar regions. Working in environments where access and long-term stays are challenging, the Institute deploys specialised equipment, advanced technologies and skilled personnel to help research teams carry out their work. Its activities support missions across Antarctica, the Arctic and the subantarctic islands. The Institute coordinates or supports scientific stations including Dumont d’Urville and Concordia in Antarctica, AWIPEV in the Arctic, and bases in the Crozet, Kerguelen, and Amsterdam and Saint-Paul archipelagos. Alongside field logistics and the implementation of research, IPEV shares information through publications, news, blogs, photographs, podcasts, exhibitions and educational resources. Its website also provides information about polar environments, research projects, supported missions, careers and application procedures. By combining practical capabilities with scientific and technical skills, the French Polar Institute helps make research in these remote regions possible and makes knowledge about the poles more accessible to researchers and the wider public.
