## Description

INSUGEO, the Instituto Superior de Correlación Geológica, was established in 1984 at the National University of Tucumán, Argentina, with the aim of addressing regional geological research. Incorporated into CONICET as an executive unit in 1996, INSUGEO has significantly contributed to the scientific community's understanding of geological phenomena through its affiliation with the Tucumán Scientific and Technological Center (CCT-Tucumán). 

The institute specializes in various interdisciplinary fields, including regional geology, petrology, geo-chemistry, paleontology, sedimentology, ichnology, dynamic stratigraphy, and hydrogeology. INSUGEO not only produces significant publications, such as the Serie Correlación Geológica, but also offers services related to geo-tourism circuits in Tucumán, promoting scientific engagement with the public. 

With a strong research foundation and collaborative efforts with institutions like the National University of Salta, INSUGEO continues to advance geological studies and foster educational initiatives, celebrating 40 years of innovative scientific inquiry in 2024.
