## Description

INTBAU is a global network dedicated to advancing traditional building, architecture, and urbanism, with the aim of creating better places to live. Its chapters connect people and initiatives across countries and cultures, drawing on local knowledge, skills, and character. INTBAU works through advocacy, education, research, and grants, and invites individuals and organisations to participate through general, professional, corporate, and academic membership.

The network offers courses and workshops in traditional design to help address its limited presence in architecture education. Its grants support grassroots projects rooted in local wisdom and practical skills. Through partnerships and involvement in major projects, INTBAU promotes responsible approaches to place-making and reconstruction that respect local identity and social context. Its research work seeks impartial, tested evidence about the health, economic, and environmental benefits of traditional approaches.

INTBAU also shares resources, documents, institutional listings, news, and events, including seminars on vernacular architecture and sustainability. Its international chapters are central to its work, enabling collaboration and community-led projects around the world.
