HuRI is the Human Reference Protein Interactome Mapping Project undertaken by CCSB (Center for Cancer Systems Biology). This ambitious project aims to map the interactions between human proteins to gain a comprehensive understanding of cellular processes and disease mechanisms. HuRI has made significant progress in this endeavor, with proteome-scale efforts spanning several phases.

The first phase, HI-I-05, utilized screening of approximately 8,000 ORFs (Open Reading Frames) and identified around 2,700 high-quality binary protein-protein interactions (PPIs). Subsequent phases, including HI-II-14 and HuRI, expanded the search space and increased the number of identified PPIs to accommodate a growing number of human protein-coding genes. HuRI, the latest phase, has screened around 17,500 genes and identified approximately 53,000 PPIs.

Users can access and download these PPI datasets to conduct their research. In addition to the primary datasets, HuRI also provides an aggregate of PPIs from other CCSB projects, ensuring a comprehensive resource for scientists and researchers. By offering updated datasets and employing advanced mapping pipelines, HuRI is paving the way for further insights into the complex network of human protein interactions
