Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake is a non-profit organization that strives to engage congregations in becoming responsible caretakers of our shared watershed. With a vision of a thriving community where faith communities honor, care for, and protect the Chesapeake watershed, Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake works to raise awareness of the power that people of faith have to restore clean water and environmental justice. They offer hands-on assistance to congregations, helping them plan, finance, and implement healing projects such as rain gardens, tree plantings, and native plantings. With a strong presence in Maryland, they are expanding their reach into Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. Congregations can also join them by signing the Partner Congregation Pledge. Funding for Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake comes from donations, grants, and a significant $1 million grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. With a mission to inspire and equip people of faith to honor, protect, and restore our shared watershed, Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake operates with core values of respect, action, justice, inclusion, and accountability. Recognized for their outstanding work, they have received several awards and honors for their dedication to environmental education, advocacy, and action in the Chesapeake Region.
