## Description

Egads is a web-site software that offers an interface and tools for creating community-based dictionaries of Native American languages. Developed by Sean Burke, the software integrates dictionary databases, textbases, and grammars of languages. The current version was initiated in 2001 to support an Apache lexicon project at the University of New Mexico with a focus on Native American languages, and has since expanded to a dozen other languages. Although documentation and release of the software are still pending, it is in active use and can be observed through the minimal Haida implementation. For those interested in implementing an Egads lexicon for their language, inquiries can be directed to sburke@cp a n.org. With a dedication to preserving and promoting linguistic diversity, Egads provides a valuable platform for the development and sharing of Native American language resources.
