"IMT: Intermediatheque is a unique collaboration between Japan Post Co., Ltd., and the University of Tokyo's Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, established in March 2013 at the prestigious Marunouchi JP Tower. Housed in the historic Tokyo Central Post Office building, a symbol of Showa Modernism, IMT spans two floors dedicated to the museum space, serving as a hub for 'intermedia experiments' that bridge various forms of media to cultivate new cultural expressions. The venue showcases the University's academic specimens accumulated since its founding in 1877, blending historical heritage with contemporary design techniques in an urban setting. IMT hosts regular exhibitions and events merging cutting-edge scientific discoveries and unique creative expressions, offering a dynamic educational experience. Alongside these activities, IMT develops and sells original merchandise as part of its mission to promote the results of academic research and provide a platform for innovative education programs."
