## Description

International Dance Day, established in 1982 by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), is celebrated annually on April 29th, in honor of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of modern ballet. The goal of International Dance Day is to showcase and appreciate the art of dance as a universal language that transcends political, cultural, and ethnic boundaries. Each year, a message from a renowned choreographer or dancer is shared globally, selected by the ITI Dance Committee and Executive Council. This message is translated into various languages, uniting people worldwide through the joy of dance. The ITI, with headquarters in Paris and Shanghai, promotes and supports the performing arts globally. By subscribing to the ITI Newsletter, one can stay updated on ITI's activities and projects. Join the global celebration of dance on International Dance Day!
