## Description

The International Primatological Society (IPS) is a global organization dedicated to advancing primatology and protecting primate species. It encourages scientific research across all areas of nonhuman primatology and fosters cooperation among researchers of different nationalities. The Society also supports international collaboration, education, and inclusive participation in the field.

IPS brings together members through its congresses, affiliated societies, news, and activities, and shares research through the International Journal of Primatology. Its website provides educational resources about primates, conservation, research, and captive care, alongside guidance on making capture safer and identifying alternatives. The Society promotes primate welfare and conservation through policy statements and guidelines addressing topics such as habitat protection, community involvement, private ownership, wildlife trade, and the use of primates in media and biomedical research.

IPS also offers awards, scholarships, and grants for achievement, conservation, captive care, research, education, and fieldwork. Members and supporters can contribute through fundraising initiatives and donations.
