## Description

IOBC-WPRS is the West Palaearctic Regional Section of the International Organisation for Biological Control, a global organisation established in 1955 to promote environmentally safe approaches to controlling pests and diseases in plant protection. Its work centres on collaboration, research, practical application, information sharing and professional training, with the aim of advancing feasible biological and integrated control methods.

The organisation brings together scientists and other professionals through Working Groups, Study Groups and Commissions. These expert networks develop and assess research programmes and focus on specific technical and practical topics. Members can take part in meetings, working groups and other activities, while the website provides information about membership, contacts, job opportunities and upcoming events.

IOBC-WPRS also shares knowledge through publications and resources, including its bulletins, newsletters, books and the BioControl journal. Its news and event listings cover research, conferences and developments in biological control and integrated plant protection. By connecting specialists across countries and disciplines, IOBC-WPRS supports the exchange of knowledge and the application of sustainable pest and disease management in agriculture.
