## Description

The Iolanthe Midwifery Trust is a UK registered charity dedicated to supporting midwives to improve care for mothers, babies and families. Its work focuses on strengthening midwifery education, practice and services so that birthing women, people and babies can benefit from better care. The Trust offers awards and financial support for training and self-development, including courses, conferences, travel and elective placements. It also funds midwifery research projects and provides awards for initiatives that improve local maternity services and women’s experience of midwifery care.

Support is available to both student midwives and practising midwives, with award recipients using funding for professional development, research and service improvements. Examples highlighted by the Trust include work on kindness in maternity services, anti-racism training related to Black maternal health, and specialist infant-feeding education. The organisation also shares news, impact reports and information about its mission, governance and award winners. Individuals and groups can support its work through donations, fundraising, legacy giving and events such as the London Marathon.
