## Description

The International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) is a prestigious membership organization dedicated to advancing the field of psychoanalysis. Established by Sigmund Freud in 1910, the IPA serves as the primary accrediting and regulatory body for psychoanalysts worldwide. Its mission encompasses establishing foundational training principles, developing and accrediting psychoanalytical societies, and setting ethical standards to ensure the integrity of the profession.

With a network of over 97 societies globally, the IPA fosters a strong sense of community among its members, promoting both clinical psychoanalysis and theoretical pluralism. The organization emphasizes the importance of understanding the impacts of contemporary challenges on individuals and communities and actively seeks ways to intervene psychoanalytically in social issues.

Additionally, the IPA hosts various events and activities, including conferences, webinars, and podcasts, aimed at enhancing knowledge and fostering professional relationships. Through these initiatives, the IPA remains committed to the ongoing development and vitality of psychoanalysis in a rapidly changing world.
