## Description

The Initiative for Policy Dialogue (IPD), founded in July 2000 by Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz, is a globally respected organization dedicated to enhancing the discourse around international development policy. By connecting a diverse network of leading economists, political scientists, and key academic and policy institutions from both the global South and North, IPD fosters a rich dialogue to address the complex challenges posed by globalization. The organization focuses on democratizing knowledge production and ensuring that the voices of developing countries are heard in major policy discussions.

IPD works through four primary programmatic areas: thematic studies that develop alternative policy solutions, country dialogues aimed at improving decision-making processes, a journalism program designed to enhance economic reporting, and education initiatives that critique traditional economic theories. By equipping countries with a broader spectrum of economic solutions, IPD aims to promote democratic, equitable, and sustainable development, thus contributing to a more just and informed global society.
